N.D. (NewsDakota.com)–The Carrington Cardinal girls basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 56 to 39 win over the Velva Aggies. In a game that had a combined 53 turnovers (Carrington 27, Velva 26), it was Carrington that found enough offense to pullout the 17 point victory. Kauri Hochhalter led three Cardinals in double figure scoring with a game high 19 points, Maara Nelson 12, and Haley Hewitt 10. Hochhalter went 4-4 from the free throw line and knocked in 3 three pointers. Carrington hit 11-16 free throws in the contest, good for 69 percent while the Aggies struggled hitting only 9 of 21 for 43 percent. The Aggies were led in scoring by Junior Jonnah Lee with 10 points.  The Cardinal’s next action will be at the Stutsman County Tourney 12/10–12/12.
