N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A crowd of around 150 people made it out to hear thoughts and the possibility of building and maintaining a gun range for Stutsman County.
Curt Kasemen, a member of the United Sportsman Club, moderated the event and posed the question; is a gun range needed or wanted in the area? During discussions, Pipestem Manager Bob Martin stated that the previous range in the area had problems with vandalism and misuse of the range.
Kasemen announced that the Army Corps of Engineers would not allow a range to be re-established at Pipestem, so the big area of need was a location for the range. He also stated that the range would need a new group created in order to maintain it.
Signatures for different committees were given in order to focus on the different areas to build a new range. The committees created will be responsible for either finding space, applying for grants, and maintaining facilities. Stay tuned to NewsDakota.com as the story develops.
