JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Everything makes a difference during the Red Kettle Campaign for the Salvation Army. From a penny to $500,000, anything donated can change everything. You can now add a gold coin to that list.

The Jamestown Salvation Army has reported that an anonymous donation of a one-half ounce gold proof coin that retails for $720 was dropped into a red kettle in the Jamestown area.

“Giving has been slow so far this year, so this gives us a nice boost,” said Major Tim Nauta. “Our Christmas Campaign is way behind so we’ll take all the donations and volunteer bell ringers we can get.”

There are only 18 bell ringing days that remain and numerous shifts that are still available to be worked. You can contact the Jamestown Salvation Army at 701-252-0290 or register online.
