CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Stutsman County is discussing whether to remodel or build a new jail in Jamestown. Barnes County has talked about building a new jail for years.
Commissioner Rodger Berntson shared a conversation he had with Stutsman County officials earlier this year.
Commissioner John Froehlich said it doesn’t hurt to talk about future jail options for Barnes County.
Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said the jail issue needs community input.
Commissioner Froehlich threw out a couple of possible options for a future jail and joint law enforcement center.
