N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Co-Founder of the World Farmers Organization, UN Ambassador for the International Year of the Family and former President of the North Dakota Farmers Union Robert Carlson has given his thoughts on the future of farming in North Dakota and the world.

Carlson points out that the estimated world population is expected to be around 9 billion people by 2050, and because of that growth, farmers will need to produce even more food for the demand of variety around the world.

Carlson points out that a lot of farmers are unable to continue farming and new farmers can’t start-up because commodity prices are set by the markets.

But, Carlson believes that the future will be bright for farmers in the state and around the world.

Robert will be presenting pictures from his travels to over 40 different countries around the world during a dessert social on Monday, November 20th at 7:00 PM in Jamestown at the Women’s Club Room.
