N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A group of parents from the Barnes County North School District are proposing a recall of school board member Lori Carlson.
Barnes County North parent Curt Brown believes the board is micro-managing the Superintendent and Principal Mark Lindahl.
School board chairwoman Lori Carlson believes the board has done nothing wrong that would merit a recall of any school board member.
Carlson said that Superintendent Lindahl tendered his resignation in September, effective at the end of the school year. Carlson said Lindahl told the board that he and his wife Mary would be moving to the Twin Cities to be closer to their grandchildren.
But Barnes County North parent Anita Soupir took issue with Lori Carlson’s comments about the resignation of Lindahl and the current situation in the school district. Soupir told KOVC Radio that the recall effort will focus on school board chairwoman Lori Carlson.
Carlson has been the president of the Barnes County North School District since the district was formed. The first graduating class was 2008, back then the district was split among three campuses, Wimbledon-Courtenay, North Central, and Spiritwood.
The current Barnes County North School District building near Leal, North Dakota is two years old.
