N.D. (NewsDakota.com)–The Lamoure Loboes rolled to 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-15) win over the F-S-H-P Spartans in the opening round of the North Dakota High School girls volleyball tournament at the Minot State U. dome. The Loboes got off to a great start in the opening set leading 16-6 and cruised to the 25-17  win. The Spartans had a few flashes of good play but could not answer Anna Holen’s match high 20 kills. Holen also did a great job defensively with a match high 18 digs and teammate Kindra Hamlin added 17 digs and 8 kills to help aid the Loboe victory. Jackie Meiklejohn added a match high 37 assists, 2 aces, and added 4 kills from her setter position. Katrina Hoff added 5 kills and senior Brianna Shockman was 20-20 serving with 2 aces.

The Spartans finished the match with 31 kills and were led by 6’3 senior Mikayla Larson’s 9 kills. Morgan Jacobsen added 7 and Jessica Lee with 6 paced the Spartan attack. With the loss, the Spartans dropped there overall record to 33-6 on the year and will play the Ray Jays in consolation action at 2:00 on Friday. The 4th seeded Loboes improved to 36-2-1 on the season and will take on the top seeded Our Redeemers Knights at 8:00 Friday night. The Loboes were defeated by the Knights during a regular season tournament match 2-0.
