N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The theme of the day for the 5th Annual Kiwanis Packaging Event would be many hands makes small work.

The Jamestown Kiwanis Club held their annual event at Stutsman Harley Davidson on Saturday, November 14th in Jamestown. Kids Against Hunger Chairperson Janna Bergstedt stated that they asked for at least 400 volunteers, but had over 500 come to help.

According to Bergstedt, the group almost set a new record with the amount of total meals packaged at 212,544.

The club was able to reach their $50,000 goal thanks to donations and an anonymous donor. The funds raised purchased the ingredients needed to package the meals. The international meals will be sent to Africa for the holiday season.
