CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Barnes County Veterans Service Officer Chad Clement said some elected officials are arrogant in the way they handle Barnes County employees.
Clement brought up concerns he had with Commissioner John Froehlich and Auditor Beth Didier during a Barnes County Grievance Committee hearing on Friday, October 30.
Clement accused Froehlich of being a micro-manager. But Froehlich defended himself.
Clement accused Didier of not being cooperative in getting access to an updated employee manual. He told the committee he had a problem with Didier’s attitude concerning lunch breaks after a department heads meeting. He talked about it during this exchange with Grievance Committee member Theresa Will.
Didier told Clement, she was not directing any accusation at him over employee lunch breaks during that department head meeting and she apologized to him.
During a November 3rd Barnes County Commission meeting the commission accepted the resignation of Chad Clement. The commission will now search for a new Veterans Service Officer as soon as possible.
Chad Clement served in the U-S Navy for 28 years before he was hired as the Barnes County Veterans Service Officer on May 25.
