CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Valley City businessman has been charged with disorderly conduct according to Barnes County Assistance State’s Attorney Lilie Schoenack.
In the criminal compliant a FedEx driver told police and the State’s Attorney’s Office that as he was making a package delivery to the back door of the Iron Stallion, the owner Brian Mindt became uncooperative and began shouting a racial slur using the “N” word several times toward the FedEx driver.
At one point as the driver was trying to leave the back door alley entrance of the business Mindt allegedly pulled the victim from behind as the driver attempted to enter the FedEx vehicle. Mindt then entered the vehicle and punched the radio and told the driver to shut off this “‘N’ music”.
As the FedEx driver tried to call police Mindt allegedly grabbed the driver. The man told police he broke free and called 9-1-1.
The incident was reported on September 29 in Valley City. Mindt was formally charged with Disorderly Conduct a Class B Misdemeanor on October 19. His first court appearance is set for October 27 before Southeast Judicial District Judge Jerod Tufte at 10am in Barnes County.
