N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Foster County Emergency Manager Jess Earle is informing residents to call before burning.
While Foster County is not in a burn ban and fire conditions are low to moderate, controlled burning plans should be reported to the Foster County Sheriff’s Department at 701-652-2251 or Emergency Management at 701-652-2252.
“We pass this information on the the fire departments so they don’t need to respond – unless the fire gets out of control or creates other hazards,” Earle stated.
Windy days paired with dry conditions allow a fire to spread rapidly and quickly get out of control. Call before you partake in planned, controlled burning.
