N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Middle blocker and 6’5 Junior Macey Kvilvang of North Star led the way with 37 kills as the Bearcats beat Carrington on Monday night 3-2 (25-22, 14-25, 25-15, 21-25, 16-14). The defending Class ‘B’ champs are a prefect 29-0 overall, the Cards drop to 21-6 overall.
The Cardinals hitters had 51 kills, led by Senior’s Kauri Hochhalter and Taylor Kutz with 15 each. Junior Carmen Pederson had the two total stuff blocks for Carrington. Pederson also led the way with six aces, 19 total for the team.
Next up for Carrington is Tuesday night in Glenfield against fellow District 5 team Midkota/Kensal. Pregame will start about 6:45pm on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com, first serve about 7pm.
The District 5 tourney will start on October 29th at Barnes County North High School in Leal. No. 1 seeded LaMoure will take on No. 8 Litchville/Marion/Montpelier in the first game, then Edgeley/Kulm will take on Ellendale, followed by No. 2 Oakes against No. 7 Midkota/Kensal and in the fourth and final game No. 3 Carrington will play No. 6 Barnes County North.
