S.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City State University earned a hard fought 24-14 win over Presentation College on Saturday from Swisher Field, after being tied at 7 at the half.

Lucas Norblom connected on a 34 yard field goal with 9:11 left to go in the third quarter, which gave VCSU a 10-7 lead.

Presentation College responded in the fourth quarter when Austin Eggl hit Cole Adams for a 31 yard touchdown to take a 14-10 lead with 14:02 left in the game.

On the ensuing possession for VCSU, Kurtis Walls found a wide open Josh Tovar for a 56 yard touchdown down the sidelines. That gave the Vikings a 17-14 lead with 13:11 left to go in the game.

VCSU put the game away for good after Jacob Duilio rushed for a 15 yard touchdown with 4:49 left to go. That came on the next play after Mychael Bruce picked off Eggl at the 20 yard line. 

Nicholas McBeain paced the defense with 20 tackles, while Duilio lead the offense with 110 yards rushing and one touchdown. 

Presentation College drops to 3-4 overall and 0-4 in the North Star, while VCSU improves to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the North Star.
