(NewsDakota.com) Brody Bartholomew scored three rushing touchdowns, and make a 20 yard field goal with two seconds remaining to give the Oakes High School football team a 23-20 victory on homecoming night at Cummings Field on Friday against Ellendale-Edgeley-Kulm.
Tied at 20, the senior drilled the field goal from the left hash mark, a kick that could have been made easily from 15 yards further out. Bartholomew scored two of his touchdowns from one yard out in the first half.
The Tornadoes end the regular season at 4-4, and 3-2 in Class A Region I, and have earned the #3 seed in the region. As such, Oakes will head north to Larimore on Saturday, October 24 at a time to be determined to face the #2 seeded Polar Bears out of Region II. Oakes lost to Larimore at Larimore 31-0 in week two.
