N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A power outage that lasted roughly half an hour Tuesday was thanks to a squirrel in a substation.

Otter Tail Power Company reports that starting at 3:15 PM, a squirrel got into the substation located across from the Jamestown City Hall. The squirrel tripped the circuit, affecting nearly 2,300 customers in the downtown area including the Alfred Dickey Public Library. Parts of Southeast and Northeast Jamestown were affected as well.

Crews were able to restore power after about 28 minutes.
