N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Final numbers are still unknown, but Mapleton Elementary School principal Tim Jacobson believes they didn’t get what they needed.
Jacobson says final numbers are still unavailable, but from initial reports the $7.2 million referendum went down to defeat yesterday. The money, if approved, would have gone to a new elementary building. More than 50% of voters said yes, but a 60% majority was needed.
Jacobson says officials have 90 days to decide if they will scale down plans and call for another vote.
