(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes City Council has announced that the City’s fall clean-up week will be held between October 19 and 24.
This year brings a noticeable change on how items will be discarded. Instead of leaving items along the curbs of streets in front of a residence, the City plans to set up two or three large waste containers throughout town for use.
Those who need assistance with their removal of items will need to contact City Hall to arrange a pick-up.
The City also says the landfill is still operating at a massive loss, and that loss is continually growing. At their regular monthly meeting this week, the Council discussed possible solutions to the financial issues and addressed ideas to reduce costs; with more information being reviewed and researched.
