ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Since last Saturday September 26th, the Carrington Volunteer Fire Department has been called out eight times for several field fires, a search and rescue, three combine fires, a house fire and a power poll fire.

CFD was called out on Thursday to rural Woodworth for a house fire, the house was fully destroyed along with a garage.  No injuries were reported, but Fire Chief Ken Wangen said there was concern about some hay bales and a couple of silage piles near the house that could have caught fire, but the fire was contained to just the house and garage.  The cause remains under investigation.  Also on Thursday night, the fire department responded to a power poll on fire by the Credit Union in Carrington, causing a power outage for some Carrington residents on the north side of town.

Last Saturday the 26th of September, Search and Rescue responded to a 911 call from a person in distress.  According to Foster County Sheriff, Ian Mattice, the Carrington Fire Department, Foster and Stutsman County Sheriffs Office and Carrington ambulances all responded.  Search and Rescue was able to find the person in Foster County, who suffered some injuries to the neck.  A plane was on standby but not needed.  The victim, identified as Foster County Commissioner Pat Copenhaver, was transported to a Bismarck hospital and after several surgeries, is expected to make a full recovery.
