CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Parks and Rec Director Tyler Jacobson received a letter that the Concession Stand project has been awarded a ,000 Cultural Heritage Grant from the State Historical Society.

Restoration co-event coordinator Becky Heise said a few more grants may be available for the project early next year. She said the restoration project is estimated at nearly $32,000.

Earlier this year the Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation approved of a $7,500 funding request from Heise to be use for the Concession Stand restoration project.

Heise said we need to raise around $2,000 in cash donations to qualify for more grants, so far $500 in local donations has been accepted
