N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Army Corps of Engineers have announced that beginning today, they will begin to lower water levels on Lake Audubon.

Water levels are being lowered one week earlier than normal as part of annual fall draw-down operations and to allow repairs to the gate-well covers on U.S. Highway 83. Boaters, cabin owners, and recreation users should take proper precautions regarding changing lake levels.

Levels will drop approximately 1.7 feet. Draw-down operations are conducted to improve water quality, coincide with southerly migration and help reduce wave erosion.
