CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It was an old school, smash mouth and hard hitting football game between the Valley City Hi-Liners and the Watford City Wolves on Friday night. 

The Hi-Liners capitalized on two Wolves turnovers in the game, as both lead to scoring drives. 

After Kory Johnson recovered a fumble, the Hi-Liners would score on a John Halgrimson run from three yards out in the second quarter to take a 6-0 lead. 

Eli Allen forced the next turnover off an interception with 9.9 seconds left to go in the first half. Levi Nix hit Justin Manson for a 46 yard touchdown on the very next play.

The Hi-Liners would go on to win 26-6 over Watford City and improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in West Region play. 

Valley City hosts Stanley/Powers-Lake for homecoming night on Friday, October 2nd at Hannah Field.

6-0 – Halgrimson rushed for a 3 yard touchdown. (2pt conversion unsuccessful) 

12-0 – Nix passed to Johnson for a 12 yard touchdown. (2pt conversion unsuccessful)

18-6 – Nix passed to Manson for a 46 yard touchdown. (2pt conversion unsuccessful) 

26-6 – Allen rushed for a 25 yard touchdown. (2pt conversion was successful from a Nix pass to Ethan Zeltinger)
