(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High School volleyball team improved to 13-6 after defeating the South Border Mustangs three games to one on Thursday night in Ashley.

Oakes won by scores of 25-15, 16-25, 25-21 and 27-25. The Tornadoes had a total of 42 kills, lead by Shelby Roney with 15 kills and Jordyn Seyer with 14.

The Mustangs had a team hime 16 kills from Morgan Schnabel.

Oakes will remain out of Class B District 5 play when they host the Sargent Central Cadets on Tuesday, September 29. Coverage on KDDR-AM 1220/95.9 FM and NewsDakota.com will start around 7 to 7:15 p.m.
