N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An event that started as a spaghetti feed fundraiser to raise funds for educational advances at St. Johns Academy in Jamestown has grown into one of the biggest fundraisers in the community.
Jim and Carolyn Exner have been involved with the HOPE, or Help Offer Private Education, Dinner for the first 10 years and have come back to the publicity committee for its 25th year. The first ever dinner and auction collected nearly $6,500 and has grown to raise about $100,000 in the last three events.
The event has increased form 9 sponsors in 1990 to 55 sponsors last year. The event has grown so much, that the venue needed to be changed from the Civic Center to the Zebedee Center at St. John’s Academy. Jim said that the event has grown due to the communities continued support.
Tickets for the event are going fast and dollars raised will go to education support at the school. You can call 701-252-3397 for more information or to purchase a ticket. All proceeds go to the St. John’s Academy in Jamestown.
