N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A program with Northern Plains Electric Cooperative that allows members to round-up their bill to the next dollar has approved their grants for this quarter.

The Operation Round-Up Board of Directors has approved $12,400 to help several worthy causes in their service area. Members who voluntarily elect to have their electric bills rounded up raise around $37,000 every year. Since the programs inception, they have awarded nearly 832 local charitable causes.

Below is a list of the grants approved in September:

David Sullivan, Cando, to assist with medical expenses.
Vernon Hoyt, McHenry, to assist with medical expenses.
Eunice Baker, St John, to assist with medical expenses.
Jason Hegvik, Glenfield, to assist with medical expenses.
Tyler Walen, McHenry, to assist with medical expenses.
Melvin Biel, Carrington, to assist with medical expenses
Harvey Fire Department, fire truck.
Jamestown Bus Stop, bus stop.
Village Arts Inc, theater production props.
Benson, Eddy, Griggs, Kidder, Pierce, Ramsey, Rolette, Stutsman, Towner and Wells Counties and Carrington Daily Bread, food pantries and giving trees.
