N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A severed Century Link cable near West Fargo was the cause for a wide-range of outages from Casselton to Jamestown yesterday.
9-1-1 calls needed to be rerouted to State Radio in Bismarck and phone service between different carriers was affected with network problems and long-distance calling. Land lines worked for the most part, but the cut fiber optic cable took out all digital banking services so individuals were unable to swipe their debit and credit cards.
An unidentified third-party contractor is reportedly responsible for the damage.
