FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have released the name of a 9-year-old boy from McLeod who was killed when he crashed a four-wheel off-road vehicle on a construction site where his father was working.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Jeremiah Solhjem was driving the four-wheeler west of Plains View Golf Course on the Grand Forks Air Force Base property about 10 a.m. Thursday when he lost control in a rutted grassy area.

The vehicle overturned and ejected Solhjem before coming to rest on top of him. He was taken to a nearby hospital but died. Authorities say Solhjem was not wearing a helmet.
