N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An application for emergency funds has been approved by the South Central Dakota Regional Council Executive Board for the city of Lehr and their collapsed water tower.

After the collapsed tower had been repaired, officials reported dirt and mud in the drinking water. Officials are working with engineers and have found that well Number One had collapsed or failed. Water has been switched to come from an older well to the North of the community.

Other funds were approved for the city of Cleveland to apply for funds for the removal of sludge built up around the city’s sewer lagoons.
