(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jay volleyball team evened their West Region record at 2-2 with a four-set win over Mandan (25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22). Jamestown has won both of its home matches and dropped its only two road games.

McKayla Kurtz lead the Jays with 10 kills, including ending the with match with the final kill. Courtney Peterson finished with nine kills.

The match was back and forth throughout most of the action, but Jamestown’s ability to pull away toward the ends of the sets was the difference. They scored seven of the last nine to win set one.

Mandan, however, did control set three pretty much from the start. Jamestown trailed by as many as 11 before closing the gap to five.

Jamestown heads to Marshall, MN this weekend and then they are back home battling Century on Tuesday night. Jamestown’s only two WDA losses the last two seasons had been home losses to the Pats. You can catch the Jays/Patriots match on ESPN Jamestown.
