Thoughts:

Fargo Davies has five solid players that are all interchangeable giving them great depth through their line-up.

Dalton showed today that he is an elite player, picking up two wins today.  In singles, he attacked with his ground strokes and also with his serve and volley game.  He was in total control of his play and the match.  In doubles, he played well and his partner, Brandon, probably had his best net game of his career.  He was digging volleys off his shoe tops and poaching for winners.  Brandon kept his emotions in check in the doubles match and played a high level the whole time.

We haven’t had much for wind this fall, so today was a challenge for several of our players.  It is the same challenge for both sides and they figured it out quicker than we did today.

Hunter had two tough losses today at #2 doubles with Riley and in a 3 setter in singles. We forced a 2nd set tiebreaker, but couldn’t take the set.  It is crazy how far these two have progressed after just picking up the sport at the start of last season.

At the JV level, we took our lumps, but we are quite a bit younger.  We have three 8th graders, one 9th grader, and one 10th grader playing top JV that are all improving.  At least two of those players will be sliding into a varsity slot next year so we need them to keep improving.

Next action is this morning at 11am at home versus Mandan in a 3-2 line-up and 3:30pm at home versus Jamestown.
