CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The Sheyenne Care Center is adding on to their existing facility in Valley City.
Administrator Craig Christianson said the project should take 3 years to complete. The estimated cost of the addition is $12.5 million.
Christianson said the addition will include a new chapel and more resident living areas north of the existing facility in Valley City. He said the last major renovation project at the Sheyenne Care Center took place in 1988.
Christianson said the project is broken down into 3 different phases and each phase will open bids up to all contractors. In the first phase the footing and foundation bid was awarded to Wick Construction.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday, September 4th. Below are photos of that ceremony taken by photographer Steve Urness.
