N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County United Way has scheduled their 2015 kick-off event and have set their goals for the upcoming year.

According to Dana Wallace with Jamestown United Way, last year’s campaign topped the set goal of $210,000 with roughly $222,106.45 raised. According to the group, this year’s goal is once again $210,000 and they hope to achieve this goal once more.

“The Jamestown community has a greater need for services, which is the reason that we had to raise the campaign goals to help meet the needs for the services in Jamestown.”

Several fundraisers have been planned including the kick-off event to be held on September 18th at Jack Brown Stadium. More information will be released closer to that date. The United Way Program is designed to improve education and cut the number of high school dropouts in half as well as help people achieve financial stability and promote healthy lives. 99% of all funds raised stay local.
