CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Today is the first day of school for the Valley City School district but it will be the final year for Superintendent Dean Koppelman.

Earlier this week he thanked the teachers for their hard work and wished them and everyone the very best in the upcoming school year.

Koppelman is one of the longest serving school superintendents in the state as he enters his 18th year leading the Valley City school district.
