Menz, age 85, of Wimbledon, ND, died Friday, August 21st at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City under CHI Hospice care.  A private graveside service will be held at Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, ND.

Marshall Gerald Menz, the son of Martin and Clara (Mahlke) Menz, was born May 15, 1930 on a farmstead north of Wimbledon, ND.  Marshall grew up farming with his family during the depression.  He received his education at the Wimbledon School and graduated from Wimbledon High in 1948.  Marshall entered the US Army in 1953 and served his country during the Korean War.  He spent his time in Korea with an Engineer Battalion, serving as a Supply Sergeant.  He was honorably discharged in 1955 and returned to Wimbledon to farm with his family and later with his brother Lloyd.  Marshall enjoyed studying the Bible and lived his life by the knowledge he gained from it.  He also enjoyed music, fishing, family gatherings and helping his nephews out in the field during harvest.

Marshall is survived by his sister, Charlotte Grager, Enumclaw, WA; a special sister-in-law, Elaine Menz, Wimbledon, ND; seven nephews and five nieces.

Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nora Schroeder, and two brothers, Chester and Lloyd Menz.
