CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Junior High Students in the Valley City School District will have an opportunity to take classes that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math known as STEM this fall.

Junior High Principal Dan Larson said teacher Mel Klingenberg is working to implement an Automation and Robotics class for 8th graders.

A Design and Modeling class will be offer to 7th graders. And a Medical Detectives class will focus on genetic testing of evidence found at a simulated crime scene.

Larson said the school district received a $20,000 grant from the John Deere Corporation and a state grant of $15,000 through the Department of Career Technology and Education.

Thanks to a partnership with Project Lead The Way Gateway a total of $35,000 in grant funding will be for this project.
