(NewsDakota.com) – For the second consecutive year Jamestown Post 14 has advanced from the first day of the Class AA state legion tournament. Post 14 took care of the tournament hosts Dickinson 7-1 to advance to a match-up Wednesday with No. 1-seed Bismarck.

Peyton Walker started the game and worked into the ninth inning. In what could be his final Post 14 start, Walker handcuffed the Roughrider offense to the tune of just one unearned run.

Offensively, Jamestown was pretty quiet against Dickinson starter Brett Schweitzer until Brian Wenzel provided the first hit in the sixth inning. A few pitches later, Nate Soulis hit a two-run bomb to get Post 14 on the scoreboard.

Jamestown will send Brian Wenzel to the mound today against Bismarck at 6pm CT.
