CITY, ND – Essentia Health handed a ,000 gift to benefit the Valley City Health Wellness and Physical Education Center. Dr Tanya Diegel, Essentia Health Clinic Valley City and the medical director for VCSU Athletic Training says “Essentia Health is committed to promoting health and wellness in the communities we serve.” Diegel added “We believe in having a meaningful presence in our service area and are excited to be a part of this remarkable project that will greatly enhance health and wellness opportunities for all ages.”
President of the Valley City Park Board, Dick Gulmon says “We are grateful to Essentia Health for their contribution. Their donation speaks to the vision and commitment of Essentia Health not only to health and fitness in the community, but to the future vitality of the community.”
Andrea Nelson with the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation said a portion of the funds donated by Essentia went toward the purchase of the children’s play area. The other portion was dedicated to the Wellness For All Program.” This fund was established through the Community Foundation to provide residents in the area access to health and wellness programs and activities offered through Valley City Parks & Recreation at reduced costs. Nelson says, “We are happy that Essentia is able to see the benefit of this program and dedicated a portion of their contribution toward helping those who are not able to commit dollars towards wellness.” She added “By assisting with scholarship dollars our hope is that even more people will be able to participate and benefit from the Wellness Center.”
