N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It has been announced that Dakota Spirit AgEnergy is now in full commercial operation.
President of Midwest AgEnergy Group Greg Ridderbusch announced the official operation beginning during a press conference on Friday, July 24th. Representatives of Governor Jack Dalrymple, Senator Heidi Heitkamp, Senator John Hoeven, and Congressman Kevin Cramer were on hand to help commemorate the new 65 million gallon-per-year biorefinery. Chief of Staff Ron Rauschenberger stated that it was because of local and state leadership that this project was brought to fruition.
The ethanol produced at Dakota Spirit AgEnergy amounts to about 20% of North Dakota’s annual fuel demand. The plant will purchase 23 million bushels of corn annually from farmers and provides 38 permanent jobs. Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis stated that the project really personifies “Dakota Spirit”.
