N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Carrington Post 25 scored one run in the bottom of the second inning and that’s all they would need as Post 25 defeats May/Port 3-0 Friday. The game was delayed about two hours due to wet field conditions from overnight rain. No. 1 Carrington improves to 15-2 and 24-8 overall and No. 2 May/Port Post 8 ends their season at 13-4 and 20-7.
Braxton Hewitt pitches a complete game four-hit shutout and picks up the victory, with two strikeouts and only one walk. Ian Chandler was the losing pitcher. Carrington’s first basemen Alex Jarret was 2-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs. Easton Paeper of Post 25 had a double to deep center in the bottom of the fifth to score Brett Lyman. Lyman also had an RBI single.
Carrington is now 2-0 when facing elimination and will face the winner of Hillsboro/CV and Hope/Finley tonight (July 24). Pregame can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK about 7:30pm Friday night.
So far the number two, three and five seeds have fallen in the Central Regional.
