N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – KFGO News out of Fargo has released the following statement on the passing of Terry Spies:

KFGO has lost a very beloved member of our family. It’s with very heavy hearts that we tell you that longtime KFGO weather forecaster Terry Spies died Monday night after suffering a heart attack.

Spies’ quick wit and personality made him a favorite among listeners and co-workers. Traveling the country on his Harley was one of Spies favorite things to do. Spies managed to get that hog out for a couple long rides this summer, most recently traveling to Milwaukee and Chicago.

Spies was a Hope, North Dakota native. He began working at KFGO in 1997 after a lengthy career at the National Weather Service. Spies held all of our hands and guided us through many storms over the years, including snowstorms and devastating floods.

Spies is survived by his wife Doris, a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending.
