(NewsDakota.com) Two of the most talented prep football players in the area in recent years ended their high school careers on quite the high note as part of the 2015 North Dakota Shrine Bowl Football Series at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks on Saturday.

The 11-Man West team held off the East team 16-14 despite a solid performance from Oakes’ Bryce Meehl; the Class A Senior Football Player of The Year last season. Meehl threw two touchdown passes (72 and 20 yards), and ran in a two-point conversion while throwing for 118 yards.

LaMoure-Litchville/Marion’s Anthony Olson was influential in the 9-Man East’s 38-35 victory. Olson ran for three touchdowns, including a 94 yard return of the second half’s kickoff. In total, Olson had 160 yards rushing on 15 carries.

Meehl will be playing football at Minnesota State University-Moorhead in the fall, while Olson will play ball at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
