Ann Solinger “Patti”, 52, of Nortonville, ND, left this earthly world on July 14, 2015 to enter into eternal life of the Lord. She was born on October 16, 1962, the daughter of Robert and Therese (Wanzek) Solinger. Patti attended grade school in Nortonville and was the only girl in the class for the first 8 years. She learned to play cards from her Grandpa Ed Solinger, which was part of her pre-school education. Patti would go to the family lumber yard and visit with customers at an early age; this is when she developed a witty personality. She graduated from Edgeley High School in 1980 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology and Rehabilitative Services from UND. Patti held numerous positions as a Social Worker, including managing a group home for developmentally disabled adults, a head-injury unit in Houston, TX, PATH in Jamestown, Social Services in Dickey, ND, and most recently for Stutsman County Social Service.
Patti was a photographer, known to always have a camera in one hand and a Mt. Dew in the other. She took many photos and took pride working with her nephew, Bryan, to give the photo the best look possible. Patti loved watching videos and graciously shared them. She had a contagious laugh that will be missed.
Patti was a kind, selfless and strong person who was always caring about others. She was organized and known for entertaining and wonderful cooking. She had many wonderful friends, her closest being her daughter, Taylor Solinger Gaines. They were always together and they shared everything, and because of this closeness Taylor has taken many of Patti’s wonderful qualities. Patti is also survived by her parents, Robert and Therese Solinger, Nortonville; brothers, Michael (Dianne) Solinger, Carson City, NV, Mark (Pat) Solinger, Nortonville and Greg (Melody) Solinger, Nortonville, ND; sister, Sandra (Mike) Soggie, Devils Lake, ND; nieces and nephews; and two great nieces and one great nephew.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
