CITY, N.D. (VCSU) Valley City State University had 11 of its athletic teams named NAIA Scholar-Teams for the 2014-15 season, the NAIA national office announced yesterday.

For a team to receive the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes from the school year. 

Valley City State University had 11 of its 14 athletic teams receive the honor, all compiling a 3.06 or better GPA. The Viking women’s basketball team led the way with a 3.69 grade point average.
