N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Northern Plains Electric Operation Round-Up Board of Directors has approved several grants to help support different causes.
According to a release, grants totaling roughly $8,850 have been awarded to 10 different charitable causes this year. Money is raised from Northern Plains Electric Cooperative members who elect to have their electric bills rounded up to the next dollar, which raises approximately $37,000 each year.
Grants Approved Include:
Tyler Hatch, Hurdsfield, to assist with medical expenses
Tom & Brook McCloud, Rock Lake, to assist with medical expenses
Carey Hoerer, Rock Lake, to assist with medical expenses
Kevin Anderson, Leeds, to assist with medical expenses
Gary Kutz, Carrington, to assist with medical expenses
Kade Hansen, Carrington, to assist with medical expenses
Lisa Harmon, Maddock, to assist with medical expenses
Cynthia Buchanan, St John, to assist with medical expenses
Pingree Fire Department, fire hall
Kidder County Ambulance, ambulance
Since the program began in October 1998, grants totaling $608,862 have been awarded to more than 812 local charitable causes.
