N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has announced a free car seat checkup that will be held Thursday, July 16th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jamestown Wal-Mart Parking Lot.
According to the NDHP, certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to answer questions and assist parents in proper usage. The checkup is put on by the NDHP along with the North Dakota Department of Health. Statistics show that four out of five car seats checked in the state had at least one error in use. During the checkup, car seats will be checked that they are appropriate for the child and are not recalled or expired.
Each car seat check will be free and take about 30 minutes. Parents should bring instructions and vehicle owner manual’s if possible. For more information, contact the NDHP at 701-251-6229.
