CITY, ND – Music at the Park will soon be back in the City Park Bandshell. Dakota Gospel features Marlin and Wanda Niess along with their grandchildren, Mikey, Katy & Amelia Meester of Valley City, beginning at 7:15 p.m.
Marlin and Wanda enjoy playing guitar and singing gospel music at area nursing homes and churches. Their grandchildren, Mikey is a junior, Katy is in 8th grade and Amelia is in 5th grade at Valley City Schools. Together they sing gospel, patriotic and folk songs.
Park and Recreation spokesperson Diane Sommerfeld said we are excited to be back in the City Park Bandshell. The bandshell was declared structurally unsafe after the flood of 2009. She said since then we were fortunate to be able to use the Barnes County Courthouse grounds and we appreciated their generosity & cooperation.
Bring your lawn chairs & blankets & enjoy the evening. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Vault located on Central Avenue. A freewill donation is taken each week to assist in the continued renovation of the City Park Bandshell.
