Nenow, 82, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday afternoon, July 11, 2015 at Eventide in Jamestown surrounded by his family.
Mike was born on November 14, 1932 on the family farm southeast of Streeter, ND, the son of Nikolai Nenow and Pausha (Mienoff) Nenow. He grew up and attended county school and high school in Streeter and then went to work various jobs until joining the Army in 1951 at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO and served in Korea. After receiving an honorable discharge at Ft. Ord, CA in 1953 as Sergeant, Mike worked as a crop adjuster until he retired. He married Vange Dewald on February 17, 1957 in Streeter, ND. They made their home in Streeter until moving to Jamestown in the spring of 1997. He was a member of the American Legion for 60 years. Mike enjoyed fishing, visiting with his family and spending time with his 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed meeting up with his friends for a beer at the Hitching Post.
Mike is survived by his wife, Vange Nenow, Jamestown; sons, Mickey (Shirli) Nenow, Jamestown and Rickey (Trayce) Nenow, Jamestown; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Leona) Nenow, Carmichael, CA and Roger (Lois) Nenow, Jamestown; and one half-brother, Nikolai Nenow, Jr., Aurora, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; sister-in-law, Anna Nenow; four half-brothers; and four half-sisters.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2015 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Pastor David Fisher officiating.
Visitation: 1:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the funeral home.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015 Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
