CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) Hail hit central and eastern North Dakota on Sunday, July 12 as big as 3 inches in diameter.
According to the National Weather Service a hail stone nearly 3 inches were reported 5 miles north of Valley City.
Below is a hail stone captured by a rural Valley City resident about 5 miles north of Valley City.

According to the Bismarck National Weather Service, reports of hail varied across the state with 1 inch hail being reported near Rogers, 2 inch hail in Kensal and 3 inch hail near Courtenay. Funnel clouds were also observed with the storm that rolled through the area and wind speeds of up to 60 miles per hour were recorded as the storm moved East through the night.
