N.D. (NewsDaktoa.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department has released their run report for the weeks of June 26th through July 9th.
According to Fire Chief Jim Reuther’s report, the department has responded to 141 calls this year so far. The department had a total of 268 runs in 2014. Some of the calls in the report include a single family dwelling fire and a vehicle on fire due to a system malfunction. June 26th, 6:58PM, ready squad responded to 2422 20th St SW, JRMC, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-burnt popcorn. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 40 minutes.
June 26th, 8:20PM, ready squad responded to 1509 10th St NE, Jamestown High School, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset set. Time out 30 minutes.
June 30th, 8:39PM, ready squad responded to 502 1st Ave S, Jamestown Area Ambulance, to investigate smoke smell. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-unknown. Time out 30 minutes.
Call No. 132 July 1st, 5:25PM, ready squad responded to 300 2nd Ave NE, Sanford Health, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-accidental alarm activation. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 15 minutes.
July 2nd, 10:34PM, ready squad responded to 501 19th St NE, Ava Maria Village, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-possible smoke from outside activated the fire alarm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 35 minutes.
July 3rd, 1:29PM, fire department responded in the area of Sunny Side Trailer Park, for a report of a grass fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-unknown. No injuries reported. Time out 1 hour 10 minutes.
July 3rd, 3:00PM, ready squad responded to 421 18th St NE, Heritage Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause- possible smoke from outside activated the fire alarm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 15 minutes.
July 3rd, 3:47PM, ready squad responded to 522 11th Ave SE, Single Family Dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 50ppm was detected. Cause-fuel burning appliance. Time out 30 minutes.
