CITY, ND – (NewsDakota.com) The owner of Marketplace Foods Keith Johanneson said the company plans to build a new liquor store, gas station and convenience store at the intersection of Main and Central Avenue in Valley City.

Johanneson said once the company plans to hire another 20 to 25 people after the renovation and construction projects are completed.

Meanwhile the city commission approved of selling a portion of the Rosebud Visitor Center parking lot near the future construction project.

The city commission set a minimum bid of $20,000 for a portion of the east edge of the city owned parking lot. All bidders must have a plan to develop within a two year period.

Renovation work is currently underway inside Marketplace Foods in Valley City.
